A Kentucky firm, Hoff Bujnoch & Associates, that's headed by a former football player and oversaw $150 million in assets at Lincoln Financial. has affiliated with LPL Financial, the firm announced Tuesday.

Digger Bujnoch played football at the University of Cincinnati, was signed by the New York Giants and later played for the Cincinnati Bengals, New Orleans Saints and Baltimore Ravens.

When he retired from football in 2010, Bujnoch founded an advisory firm, and in 2014, he merged his firm with that of Joe Hoff, who had 38 years of experience. In addition to Bujnoch and Hoff, their firm includes a financial planner, Eric Toepfer, and three staffers.

According to his BrokerCheck report, Bujnoch has 11 years of industry experience and had been affiliated with Lincoln Financial since 2014. Hoff had been affiliated with Lincoln Financial since 1991.

In a statement, Bujnoch cited LPL’s technology, the support it offers advisors and the fact that it’s self-clearing. “Everything LPL offers makes it easier for us to manage our business and spend more time with our clients,” he said.

In recent years, Hoff has taken more of a consultative role while Bujnoch manages their client base of small business owners and individuals nearing or in retirement.
