Two advisors formerly affiliated with wirehouses have joined Raymond James & Associates, the broker-dealer’s employee advisor channel, in South Florida, the firm announced Tuesday.

Pam Mitchell, who had managed $230 million of client assets at UBS, will operate as Mitchell Financial Planning of Raymond James in Naples. She’s assisted by business manager Charissa Konz.

Vijay Baxter, who had overseen $133 million in assets at Morgan Stanley, will operate as Vijay Baxter | Raymond James in Aventura.

Mitchell works with business owners, executives, pre-retirees and retirees. She had been an advisor at UBS since 2007, and before that worked as a marketing director.

"I was drawn to Raymond James' dedication to supporting financial advisor teams. This, in turn, allows us to provide high levels of support to our clients," Mitchell said in a statement. "The independence to run my business in a way that I believe benefits my clients was also a huge draw.

Baxter works with high-net-worth families, executives and business owners, including individuals in Central and South America. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley as an advisor in 2014, he had worked in banking at Wachovia, BankUnited and Bank of America.

"I'm thrilled to join a firm that is deeply committed to high-quality service, not only for the end client, but for its advisors," Baxter said in the statement. "Raymond James is one of the few institutions making investments necessary to support advisors specializing in a global clientele."

Raymond James Financial, the parent of Raymond James & Associaties, has roughly 8,700 financial advisors managing $1.24 trillion in client assets in the U.S., Canada and overseas.
