Cetera Advisor Networks has attracted a team of advisors from Hickory, North Carolina, via Convergent Financial Partners, the network’s newest region.

Brent McDonald and his Tar Heel Wealth Management Team have a practice of around $145 million and McDonald's specialties include small business planning, retirement and income planning, estate planning and insurance needs.

The team has a wealth of industry experience, including McDonald’s 18 years, and partners Julie Carroll who is a 29-year veteran of the industry and Ken Kleva with 36 years in the industry. They were previously affiliated with Securities America.

"My team and I are excited to experience the local, boutique feel of Convergent Financial Partners, backed by the national network of Cetera Advisor Networks," McDonald said. "I can't imagine receiving the same control and support anywhere else – and I look forward to seeing how my practice continues to grow and strengthen at Cetera."

Predominantly working with advisors in Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas, Convergent Financial Partners is led by managing partner Scott Smith.

"As a relatively new region of Cetera Advisor Networks, we welcome Brent aboard and are confident his practice will thrive here," said Smith. "We look forward to providing the local experience for which we're already becoming known – and we can't wait to see how Brent and his practice grow in the environment we've created."
