CAPTRUST Financial Advisors has acquired Pacific Sage Partners, an Edmonds, Washington-based registered investment advisory firm advising on approximately $1.1 billion in client assets, the Raleigh, North Carolina-based firm announced on October 29, 2026.
The eight-person team, led by founder and CEO Mark Anderson, will adopt the CAPTRUST brand - consistent with the firm's standard integration approach. The deal strengthens CAPTRUST's footprint in the Pacific Northwest, where it already operates offices in Wenatchee and Bellevue, Washington, with 14 employees including 10 advisors.
Anderson cited the firm's operational support and shared values as driving factors. "CAPTRUST gives us the resources and support to spend less time on the operational side of running a business and more time focused on helping clients navigate important financial decisions," he said. "That's what made this opportunity so compelling."
Mike Wunderli, managing director and head of mergers and acquisitions at CAPTRUST - who has overseen a series of high-profile acquisitions since joining the firm - said the deal expands the firm's ability to serve wealth clients in the state. "Mark and his team have built an impressive business with deep client relationships and a strong reputation in the region," Wunderli said.
The addition of PSP follows an active year of deal-making for CAPTRUST. The firm manages more than $1 trillion in assets and has pursued a steady stream of acquisitions in 2026, including the February acquisition of Alpha Cubed Investments, a Southern California RIA overseeing $3.8 billion in assets and May’s addition of Stillwater Capital Advisors, a Devon, Pennsylvania-based wealth management firm with $1.25 billion in assets under management.
Between January 31 and May 14 alone, CAPTRUST completed four acquisitions worth approximately $8.28 billion in combined assets under management, according to John Orsini, director of wealth advisory services at MarshBerry. In August, the firm recruited former NorthRock chief operating officer Emily Vennerstrom as senior director of mergers and acquisitions.
Carolyn Armitage of Wealth Management Consulting served as PSP's fiduciary advisor on the transaction, with Carr Butterfield, LLP acting as legal counsel.
