Depth of analysis for every client

Clark Harris is looking forward to being part of client review meetings despite long hours.

Clark Harris, who celebrated his first-year anniversary with The Insight Group Inc. in late December, is surprised by the depth of detail the firm gets into for each client. “It's been impressive to see and truly makes me feel like the process here is creating good habits that I will take through my career,” Mr. Harris, 26, said. The deep analysis of each client's situation illustrates the firm's strong commitment, he said. “It takes a lot of time, but there's a lot of value in doing it,” Mr. Harris said. He was one of the first graduates of Utah Valley University's personal-financial-planning program in December 2012 and began with Insight Group that month. Mr. Harris took the certified financial planner exam this month and is awaiting his results. Although the waiting is tough, it coincides with a busy time at the firm. (Follow Clark's progress:

'LATE NIGHTS'

“April is a really busy month for our client reviews, and I'm looking forward to being heavily involved in those meetings,” Mr. Harris said. “I'll be spending some late nights in the office.” He helps advisers develop recommendations and observations that need to be discussed during the client meetings. At the end of last year, Mr. Harris was able to participate in the process of creating new financial plans for a few clients. He enjoyed seeing the process from the beginning; he attended the span from fact-finding meetings through the final development of those plans. “It allowed me to see the process from A to Z,” Mr. Harris said. He hopes to continue gaining opportunities to progress, develop and interact with clients in his next year.
