Hogbin jumps ship from AllianceBernstein to become CEO of Lazard Asset Management
New leader of listed asset manager succeeds current leader Evan Russo.

Christopher Hogbin will take over as CEO of Lazard Asset Management in December, as current chief Evan Russo steps into an advisory role after almost twenty years at the firm.

Hogbin is a seasoned investment executive with three decades of experience including a long tenure at AllianceBernstein, where he most recently served as global head of Investments, sat on the firm’s Executive Leadership Team and was instrumental in strengthening and diversifying the firm’s capabilities across both public and private markets.

Russo has been with Lazard since 2007 with a career at the firm spans multiple leadership posts, including CFO and co-head of its Capital Markets and Capital Structure Advisory practice. He has been CEO of Lazard Asset Management since 2022.

“We see this year as an inflection point for our Asset Management business, as we continue to build on our momentum and position the firm to meet evolving client needs,” says Peter Orszag, CEO and Chairman of Lazard. “Chris’s leadership and success in growing a global investment business will help us to now accelerate progress toward our long-term strategy for Lazard.”

The incoming CEO brings a broad perspective shaped by global experience, having managed investment activities representing more than $800 billion in assets under management at AllianceBernstein, spanning equities, fixed income, hedge funds, alternatives, and multi-asset strategies.

Founded in 1848, Lazard has built its reputation as a leading financial advisory and asset management firm, with a presence across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Lazard Asset Management currently oversees approximately $248 billion in client assets as of June 30, 2025.

Lazard Asset Management recently named Keith A. Wosneski as managing director and head of consultant relations, leading global consultant engagement, joining from from Man Group having previously held senior roles at Mackenzie Investments, Acadian Asset Management, and Mercer. He succeeds Robert Connin, who now heads Lazard’s Business Intelligence team.
