I am pleased to announce the latest addition to the InvestmentNews franchise: our own 40 Under 40. Starting Monday, InvestmentNews is beginning its search for the best and brightest among the advice industry's up-and-comers. Once we have picked our inaugural class of those under 40 (hopefully with your help) we will profile them in our June 23 print edition and, even more extensively, on InvestmentNews.com. If you know a hotshot adviser who will be 39 or younger June 23 — a rainmaker, an entrepreneur, an unusually impressive overachiever who adds tremendous value to your practice — tell us about him or her in 200 words or less at InvestmentNews .com/40. We are also accepting nominations for shining stars who aren't financial advisers, provided that the majority of their work is with, and for, the financial advisory industry. So go ahead and nominate that young academician, industry consultant or technology whiz kid who you think will play a leading role in shaping the advice business over the next 20 years. I can't wait for the nominations to begin rolling in — and we expect them to roll in by the hundreds. I intend to read each and every one of them. As a journalist covering the financial advice business for more than 15 years, I know that this industry is full of exceptional young talent. Although we have always strived to showcase that talent here in the pages of InvestmentNews, it is exciting to be part of launching our first 40 Under 40. Stay tuned. It is going to be great! The deadline for nominations is April 7.
