Zuk Financial Group, a Lake Forest, Calif.-based hybrid that oversaw $1.6 billion in client assets while affiliated with National Planning Corp., has decided to remain with that firm's new owner, LPL Financial. LPL bought the assets of NPC's parent, National Planning Holdings, in August. Zuk, founded in 1974 by Paula Key and the late Cori Zuk, was created to help employees of public schools and nonprofit organizations reach their financial goals. The firm has grown to 29 advisers, more than half of whom are women, along with 45 support staff who operate among 20 branches located throughout California. According to the firm, more than half of Zuk Financial Group's clients are women.
