UBS, Merrill Lynch advisers form $500 million RIA team

Three brokers from UBS Financial Services and one from Merrill Lynch in Colorado Springs, Colo., have formed Resolute Investment Advisors and affiliated with HighTower. The firm's principals — Todd Baker, Bradley S. Harvey and Jack T. York, formerly of UBS, and James R. Young III, formerly of Merrill Lynch — collectively managed $500 million in assets at their former firms. (More: See all the latest moves in the Advisers on the Move database) Mr. Baker joined UBS in 2009 after spending 11 years at Citigroup Global Markets. He joined the securities industry in 1993 at Merrill Lynch. Mr. Harvey also joined UBS in 2009 after eight years at Citigroup Global Markets. He began his career in 1994 and spent six years with Merrill Lynch. Mr. York began his career in 1982 at Merrill Lynch. After short stints with Smith Barney and PaineWebber, he joined U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray, where he stayed for 13 years. He joined UBS in 2001. After three years with Principal Financial and one year with Everen Securities, he joined UBS in 1999 and was there for nine years. He joined Merrill Lynch in 2008.
