JAN 13, 2015
Halfway through their first year in the advice business, the six young professionals InvestmentNews is tracking for its Year 1 project — to better understand adviser experiences as they enter the industry — have gained confidence and skills. One adviser assistant recently created her first solo financial plan and shared in the personal satisfaction of watching a couple learn they can retire immediately. Another find herself immersed in tax planning, which will help her with the certified financial planner exam. Most are feeling more self-assured after making it though six months at their first full-time jobs after college. One is even getting some entrepreneurial experience, even as he's decided the CFP designation isn't in his future. Read their stories inside, and find blogs and video hangouts with them at InvestmentNews.com/YearOne. Stay tuned for the fourth update in March 2015.
