Schroders and Apollo have entered into a wide-ranging strategic partnership aimed at expanding the next wave of investment solutions for wealth and retirement clients, with a particular focus on blending public and private market strategies.
The collaboration brings together Schroders’ global active investment platform, including its public markets capabilities and private assets arm, Schroders Capital, with Apollo’s large-scale private markets expertise. Together, the firms plan to design and distribute new products that address growing client demand for income, diversification and resilience across market cycles.
A key pillar of the agreement is the UK wealth channel, where the firms intend to jointly develop hybrid investment solutions combining public and private fixed income, while in the US, the partnership will extend into retirement markets with the two firms planning to introduce a Collective Investment Trust for the defined contribution space in the second quarter, reflecting a broader push to make private market strategies more accessible within retirement portfolios.
The firms believe the partnership is well positioned to capture significant asset flows as advisors and institutions increasingly look beyond traditional public markets. By leveraging complementary capabilities and distribution networks, Schroders and Apollo expect the collaboration to generate multi-billion-dollar annual inflows over time.
Apollo Global Management Chief Executive Marc Rowan highlighted the growing need for income-oriented solutions across retirement systems.
“Schroders is a storied institution with deep investment expertise and a reputation for delivering excellent client outcomes,” he said. “Our complementary capabilities can help address a large and growing societal need for reliable income solutions. Together we look forward to developing the next generation of hybrid products.”
The partnership underscores an accelerating shift toward integrated portfolios that combine liquid and private assets, potentially expanding the toolkit available to meet evolving client income and retirement objectives.
