Charles Schwab, chairman of the Charles Schwab Corp., is recovering from heart surgery, the company said today.

Charles Schwab, chairman of the Charles Schwab Corp., is recovering from heart surgery, the company said today. Mr. Schwab, 73, "underwent successful heart valve replacement surgery" last week Friday, said Walt Bettinger, Schwab chief executive, in a statement. "He is resting comfortably and recuperating well from the surgery and expects to return home in the next few days," Mr. Bettinger said.
