Cresset, the Chicago-based multi-family office, has hired Cory Boggs as a managing director and wealth advisor in its Santa Barbara, California office, adding an advisor who oversaw more than $600 million in client assets at his previous firm, according to a company announcement this week.
Boggs joins from Manchester Capital Management, where he worked as a wealth manager advising entrepreneurs, business owners and multi-generational families on public and private market investing alongside broader wealth planning. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst and Certified Financial Planner designations, and spent more than 15 years working with high-net-worth clients before joining Cresset.
"Cresset's integrated family office model, collaborative culture, and commitment to delivering highly personalized advice make it, from my perspective, an exceptional platform to serve clients with increasingly sophisticated needs," Boggs said in the announcement.
Jessica Malkin, Cresset's chief growth officer, said the firm was "thrilled to welcome Cory to Cresset," pointing to his reputation as "a thoughtful advisor and trusted partner to entrepreneurs, business owners, and multi-generational families."
Earlier in his career, Boggs served as an assistant vice president at City National Bank in Los Angeles, working as an investment analyst within the bank's private banking division. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina.
Cresset operates as an employee- and client-owned multi-family office, integrating investment advisory, private markets access, trust services, tax strategy and family governance under one platform. Structures such as that have become a selling point in recruiting conversations, as advisors managing sophisticated client needs weigh the trade-offs between wirehouse resources and the more customized service models offered by independent family offices.
The Santa Barbara addition is the latest in a string of advisor hires Cresset has made so far in 2026, reflecting the firm's strategy of growing considerably by attracting established teams with sizable books of business rather than through organic client acquisition alone.
Earlier this month, Cresset announced that Chris Tiano and Nick Smith had joined as managing directors in the firm's Los Angeles and New York offices. The pair previously served as directors at Lazard Wealth, where they oversaw a combined $1.1 billion in assets under advisement. Last month, Cresset expanded its Denver office with the hire of Ali Bathgate Hild, who joined from J.P. Morgan Private Bank with roughly $1 billion in assets under advisement. Hild spent 14 years at J.P. Morgan across its Denver, New York and Greenwich offices.
The firm's 2026 advisor recruiting push officially kicked off in February, when it brought on Heather Pelant to advise ultra-high-net-worth families nationally. Pelant came to Cresset from Baker Street Advisors, where she was a partner and managing director overseeing more than $2 billion in client assets. Her background also includes senior roles at BlackRock and Morgan Stanley, with experience in San Francisco, Toronto and Hong Kong.
