Osaic subsidiary CW Advisors is partnering with former WNBA star and three-time Olympic gold medalist Tina Charles, the RIA announced Friday.

Boston-headquartered CW Advisors has also named Charles’ nonprofit, Hopey’s Heart Foundation, which provides access to automated external defibrillators, as its 2026 philanthropic partner.

CW Advisors says that the Charles partnership reflects the company’s focus on helping clients align their wealth with their lives, businesses and legacies. “[Tina is] navigating a pivotal life transition while growing businesses, expanding her philanthropic impact and thinking intentionally about the legacy she wants to create,” said CWA CEO Scott Dell’Orfano, in a statement. “Our role is to bring those priorities into a coordinated plan that reflects her goals, values and purpose.”

The WNBA’s all-time rebound leader, Charles was also a two-time NCAA champion at UConn and won Olympic gold with Team USA at the 2012, 2016, and 2020 games. After a stellar 14-season career in the WNBA that included a spell at the New York Liberty and two stints at the Connecticut Sun, Charles announced her retirement earlier this year.

In December 2025 she launched a craft beer company, 78 Brewing Co. The company launched its flagship beer, the 78-0 hazy IPA earlier this month. The beer named in honor of the UConn women’s basketball team, which, between 2008 and 2010, made history when it won undefeated back-to-back national championships. “No great moment is celebrated alone and I wanted to build a company that would celebrate individuals and bring people together,” Charles said, in an Instagram post. “The last two years at UConn, 2009 and 2010, my teammates and I, we went 78-0 – we’re the only team in NCAA women’s history to achieve that feat and go back-to-back undefeated – I personally always wanted to do something with that number.”

CWA has had a busy few years. An active acquirer in the RIA market, CWA was itself snapped up by Osaic last year. Last month CW Advisors acquired California RIA Catalina Capital Group and in February acquired fee-only RIA Rovin Capital.

The worlds of finance and the WNBA have been forging closer links in recent years. Last year State Street Investment Management and the WNBA announced a multi-year partnership to make State Street and its SPY ETF the league’s official investment management and ETF partner.

The WNBA also clinched a deal with Ally Financial as its official banking partner.

While research from Goldman Sachs indicates that family offices are much more likely to invest in men’s sports than women’s sports, the WNBA has enjoyed significant growth in recent years. Last year the Golden State Valkyries of the WNBA became the first team in professional women’s sports to reach a $500 million valuation.
