LPL recruits $375M independent team from Wells Fargo
The broker-dealer giant grows in North Carolina as the experienced planning team comes under its supported independence model.

LPL Strategic Wealth Services, the broker-dealer behemoth’s supported independence model, has scored another win at the expense of Wells Fargo’s independent advisor unit.

4Point Wealth Management, a Davidson, N.C.-based financial advisory firm, has joined LPL Financial’s Strategic Wealth Services, LPL revealed on Monday.

The firm, founded in 2006 and led by Christina McConnell, Laura Long, and Jay Tillman, previously operated under Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network, also known as Finet.

The team, operating just north of Charlotte, reportedly served $375 million in advisory, brokerage, and retirement plan assets at Wells Fargo before they converted to LPL.

The move is part of 4Point Wealth Management’s strategic desire to maintain autonomy while enhancing client service.

“We’ve grown our business organically over the years by providing a high level of service and developing meaningful relationships that go beyond investment management,” McConnell highlighted in a statement Monday.

The team has over five decades of combined industry experience, with a focus on retirement planning, asset allocation, and executive compensation.

The decision to join LPL Strategic Wealth Services in particular reflects 4Point’s desire for greater independence while benefiting from the resources of a larger firm.

Long noted, “Remaining true to our core principles, we decided it was time to evolve as a team and create a more ideal environment where we have true independence, supported by a partner who shares our values and client-first mentality.”

LPL’s support includes assistance in areas like business development and operational efficiency, which the team believes will enhance their ability to deliver personalized investment solutions.

“We are excited about having the autonomy to shape our practice the way we want and build a culture that reflects our true values and commitment to our clients,” Tillman said.

LPL’s numerous additions from Wells Fargo this year include a $200 million Texas team, Spotlight Financial, which joined in April.

Earlier this month, LPL welcomed back a $535 million veteran team from Wells Fargo, Harbor Lights Financial Group, which returned eight years after parting ways with LPL in 2016.
