Wealthspire Advisors, the independent RIA and subsidiary of NFP, has beefed its C-suite with two veteran executives.

The firm has named Eric Castillo to the newly created role of chief technology officer, while promoting one of its leaders, Angela Giombetti, to chief marketing officer.

"This expansion of our leadership team reflects our unwavering commitment to attract and cultivate the best talent in our industry," Wealthspire CEO Mike LaMena said in a statement.

Headquartered in New York City, Wealthspire Advisors has a sizeable operational footprint, covering more than 20 locations with over 300 team members nationwide.

"The expertise that Eric and Angela bring to their respective roles will take our organization to new heights as we further our mission of serving our clients and our people at the highest level," LaMena said, emphasizing the strategic importance of the new appointments

Eric Castillo joins Wealthspire with over 16 years of IT leadership experience. He previously served as chief information officer at LionTree, a global technology and media investment bank, where he managed technology initiatives including application development, data operations, and infrastructure.

Before that, he was CTO at Dynasty Financial Partners, where he handled advisor technology, data integrations, and custom applications.

In his new role, Castillo will be responsible for shaping and driving Wealthspire’s technology vision.

Meanwhile, Angela Giombetti, previously the head of marketing at Wealthspire, brings over two decades of experience in the financial services industry. Her resume includes roles in communications, change management, public relations, and marketing across banking, fintech, and RIA firms.

Previously she served as head of marketing at Private Ocean Wealth Management, which was acquired by Wealthspire in 2022.

Giombetti is also a nationally published ghostwriter and the founder of The In Crowd, an inclusive network for financial marketers, as well as the host of The In Crowd podcast.

Eric Sontag, Wealthspire’s president and chief operating officer, underscored the “deep experience and guidance” the firm’s newest C-suite leaders have to offer.

"The importance of long-term planning and vision around our infrastructure has become more critical than ever, and I am confident that Eric and Angela will be instrumental in supporting our continued growth and success," Sontag said.

Earlier this month, the firm strengthened its talent pool with a high-net-worth advisor previously with Bank of America Private Bank who serves a bicoastal client base covering New York and South Florida. Before that in May, it unveiled a deal to acquire Walden Wealth Partners, an all-woman RIA firm located in Beachwood, Ohio.
