A father-daughter financial advisory team has parted ways with Wall Street giant Morgan Stanley to launch their own independent firm.

Veteran advisor Joel Freedman and Alex Freedman have launched Eclipse Private Wealth Management in Radnor to offer personalized financial planning and wealth management services.

The Freedmans will be supported by Gwen Saunders, client relationship manager, who has been with the team for nearly a decade. Eclipse’s in-house professionals will collaborate with external partners, including Sanctuary Wealth for infrastructure support and BNY Pershing as a custodian.

They also work with Renaissance Charitable Foundation for charitable giving solutions and eMoney's advanced financial planning technology platform.

Joel Freedman, managing director, brings nearly 40 years of experience in the financial industry. He has held senior roles at major firms like Morgan Stanley, Wachovia Securities, and Investec, while also running his own independent boutique earlier in his career. He is a Certified Private Wealth Advisor and has been recognized by Barron’s and Forbes for his work in wealth management.

“We’re excited to launch Eclipse, get back to our independent roots, and embrace the freedom to do more for clients,” Joel Freedman said in a statement.

His daughter Alex, who had a distinguished record in collegiate sports prior to her career in financial services, serves as senior wealth advisor. She has a strong background in working with clients to achieve their financial goals.

Reflecting on the firm’s mission, she said, “We created Eclipse to pursue and unlock the exceptional in all we do for clients. To do so, we have aligned comprehensive services, industry-leading resources, and advanced technology.”
