Matt Brinker, formerly chief business development officer and head of acquisitions at United Capital Financial Advisers, has joined Merchant Investment Management as a managing partner.
“He will focus on corporate strategy as part of the management team, enhancing the experience for current Merchant partner firms, and identifying future equity partnerships that are a fit for the overall ecosystem,” Merchant said in a release.
Goldman Sachs acquired United Capital last year.
Merchant, based in New York, describes itself is a private partnership that provides capital, management resources, strategic opportunities, and direction to independent wealth and asset management firms.
