Philip Palaveev, founder and chief executive of The Ensemble Practice, describes why it's so important to build a formal succession plan, and offers tips on how to reach that goal. Mr. Palaveev's new book, "G2: Building the Next Generation" (Wiley, 2017), is laid out as a roadmap to help advisory firms recognize and nurture talent, even if that means sometimes playing favorites.
