UBS Wealth Management has recruited Heather Crist as its new chief of staff for global wealth management, according to an internal memo obtained by InvestmentNews. Ms. Crist comes from Wells Fargo Advisors, where she worked for 28 years and was promoted in February to senior vice president and market manager of the Chicago North Shore Market. According to the memo, Ms. Crist is filling a role previously held by Kate Newcomb, who is now Wealth Management Americas operating head. Ms. Crist began her career as a financial adviser with Prudential Financial, prior to the acquisition of Prudential by Wells Fargo. As a part of Wells Fargo, Ms. Crist held leadership positions in its Latin American private-client services and international groups before becoming the complex manager in Deerfield, Ill., in 2012. According to the memo, which was sent from president of UBS Wealth Management Americas Tom Naratil, Ms. Crist's primary responsibilities will be supporting Global Wealth Management America's businesses, and "she will support me in my role." Ms. Crist is expected to work with field leaders and financial advisers on a daily basis, according to the memo. UBS and Wells Fargo did not respond to request for comment.
