As managing director of the Westlake Village, California office of Newport Beach, CA-based SageView Advisory Group, Cody Klein works to “simplify the complex” for his clients.

“As net worth increases, making financial decisions becomes more complex,” he says. “The most rewarding part for me is when I get to talk to a client and help them build out their financial objectives or goals and a plan to achieve them.”

Klein says he is focused on helping his clients experience a work-optional lifestyle. He has also been described as a trusted partner for many in his community. This has translated to 99 percent of his new business generated from referrals and propelled him to be one of the firm’s top 2023 advisors by AUM.

The number one focus for Klein is planning first. He believes that most advisory firms tend to emphasize the investment side of the business and not financial planning.

“For me, it’s about the holistic wealth management. Even if we’re not managing all of their assets, we still take those assets into consideration when building a financial plan.”

Klein’s values and his organic growth at the firm are just a few reasons why he’s being recognized as an InvestmentNews Awards 2024 Excellence Awardee, with the winners announced on June 20 at 583 Park Avenue, New York City in a glitzy, red carpet ceremony. Click here to register to attend.
