Eaton Vance appoints chairman, CEO

The Boston-based firm has named Thomas E. Faust Jr. as chairman and chief executive.

Easton Vance Corp. of Boston has named Thomas E. Faust Jr. as chairman and chief executive.
He succeeds James B. Hawkes, who is retiring.
Mr. Faust joined Eaton Vance in 1985 as an equity research analyst and has served in a variety of positions including portfolio manager, director of equity research and management, and chief investment officer.
He became a vice president in 1987, executive vice president in 2000 and president in 2006.
He is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and earned a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School.
Mr. Hawkes, who joined the company in 1970, served as chief executive for 11 years.
Eaton Vance Corp. advises and distributes investment products and services.
As of Sept. 30, the company had $158.1 billion in assets under management.
