Columbia’s top bond exec jumps to Sun Life
Sun Life Financial Inc. said Thursday it named Stephen C. Peacher its chief investment officer, effective Oct. 13.

Peacher was most recently managing director at Columbia Management, where he was responsible for investment strategy, development and performance for the firm’s large fixed income and cash portfolios.
Peacher will be responsible for Sun Life’s invested asset portfolio, which had assets of $108 billion on June 30.
He succeeds James M.A. Anderson, who retired earlier this year.
Peacher will be a member of the company’s executive team and will work out of Sun Life’s global headquarters in Toronto and its U.S. head office in Wellesley Hills, Mass.
Shares rose 20 cents to $29.62 in afternoon trading. They’ve traded between $11.52 and $38.18 in the past year.
