Sanctuary Wealth hires former Wells Fargo, BNY Mellon Pershing veterans

Experienced leaders will help $30B AUM network expand.

Two wealth management industry veterans have joined Sanctuary Wealth in leadership roles to build on the firm’s network of partner firms with around $30 billion in assets under management.

Michael Goldfader takes on the role of regional managing director for the West Coast, with experience gained over 33 years in the industry, including as a financial advisor, and 22 years at UBS, where he was market head in Beverly Hills. Most recently he was high net worth and private wealth leader at Wells Fargo Advisors and The Private Bank in Los Angeles and Orange County, California.

“Sanctuary’s compelling value proposition for wirehouse breakaways strikes the right balance, offering the control top producers crave without giving up the infrastructure and support they need,” Goldfader said in a statement. “In order for the best independent advisors to thrive, they must have the freedom and flexibility to choose how to build their businesses, and that simply isn’t available on platforms that are self- or single custody.

Meanwhile, Michelle McIntyre has joined as national business development officer. Previously with BNY Mellon, she has two decades in financial services across the independent and wirehouse channels, including serving as a financial advisor and in leadership roles at Merrill Lynch – which recently lost a $700 million breakaway practice to Sanctuary.

Together with Goldfader and the business development team, McIntyre will aim to attract wirehouse breakaway partner firms and those that are already independent.

“In my previous role, I had a unique perspective on the various ways a breakaway could establish independence, and I worked with those already independent as they tried to eliminate the distractions that got in the way of serving clients and growing their businesses,” McIntyre said. “I am extremely impressed with what Sanctuary has built over the past few years and am incredibly proud to now be a part of it.”

Both new leaders will report to Sanctuary’s President, Vince Fertitta.

“Coming from Wells Fargo and with deep experience at UBS, Michael’s addition to Sanctuary means our senior leadership team includes decades of experience with all the major wirehouse firms,” Fertitta said. “Along with Michelle’s wirehouse foundation, she brings valuable experience in the independent space, enhancing our commitment to understanding where breakaway advisors are coming from and knowing how to get them where they want to go.”
