Actiance Inc. today announced Socialite Engage, a new platform meant to “empower distributed teams to share content, engage with clients and prospects, and analyze the impact of the content on social media sites.”
That last bit was from the company’s prepared statement.
Engage is available now to select beta clients and the company states it will be generally available in July.
I received a demo of sorts Tuesday afternoon; a mix of mockups and screenshots from the beta system.
I told Sarah Carter (vice president in the marketing department at Actiance) at the time that I was both impressed and fearful by the application’s potential.
Engage is designed specifically to enable investment and insurance professionals to distribute pre-approved content; more than that though, it is supposed to let users (and managers etc.) see at a glance which content had the most impact.
By that I mean users will be able to see how many clicks a post or tweet has gotten, how many have linked to it etc. — marketing and sales teams are sure to eat this up.
“With Socialite Engage, we’re empowering individuals and teams, while ensuring regulations are met,” Actiance chief executive Kailash Ambwani said in today’s statement.
“Our customers are demanding a tool to help address the need for content management, distribution and analytics across the social media channels they are embracing. Socialite Engage is the missing link for these individuals, integrating ease of use with rigorous social media compliance and we’re extremely excited to introduce this product as a part of our compliance solutions” he added.
“Missing link,” that is the scary part to me.
What I mean by that is that all those sales and marketing folks out there might just be on the cusp of access to a tool (again these were mockups, but they did look good) that can deliver not only the pre-review capabilities a handful of solution providers are working on as well as the archiving and post-review features many providers already have — but an intuitive real time measuring stick for whether content is being consumed.
This could be good if it allows for efficient use of social media and allows marketing-spam-generating firms to cut down on the deluge. Or it could help break down the floodgates.
It would all be archived at least.
Actiance’s Socialite platform provides granular controls for social networking sites, which include the specific ability to manage features accessed and content shared across more than 160 features on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.
It also leverages third party data sources, such as internal systems and data feeds, highlights channels that are the most effective and identifies potential sales leads.
