7 ways to use YouTube
YouTube has become a popular platform for firms to promote themselves to investors and advisers. In a recent survey by Mutual Fund Monitor, “Fund Films Go Viral: The Diverse Strategies of Fund Firms on YouTube, 15 of 17 firms surveyed use the video sharing website to host videos that range from getting an inside look at the firm's corporate culture to social outreach by company executives.
According to the survey, which was compiled by Corporate Insight, 47% of respondents offer investor education videos and more than 50% feature adviser-oriented content. Financial firms view YouTube channels as the perfect avenue to reach a younger demographic.
While the frequency video posts vary by each firm, the insights from the fund companies can provide advisers with a roadmap to begin using YouTube to help attract and retain clients.
