Britney Spears’ conservatorship: A timeline
July: Bessemer Trust and court-appointed attorney resign
Bessemer Trust, the wealth management firm serving as co-conservator of Spears’ estate, asks to resign, a request that is quickly approved. Spears' previous court-appointed lawyer, Samuel Ingham, is also granted permission to resign.
The judge allows Spears to choose her own attorney. Spears selects Mathew Rosengart, a prominent Hollywood attorney, as her counsel, which means she could be closer to formally petitioning for the removal of her conservatorship.
