Practices to promote financial literacy
Develop checklists and flowcharts
Financial literacy is a big aspect of what we do. Specifically, we help financial advisors have more diligent conversations with clients and we do that by developing checklists and flowcharts. These can be used to help guide clients (or their family members) who are just starting out financially or through major life events — which tend to be great times to educate clients on financial matters.
Now here is something interesting — one of our most popular checklists deals with a Master List of Goals. It's inspired by a research article that appeared in the Journal of Financial Planning. Essentially, clients are more likely to change their top financial goals once they see a list of possible goals.
