“Mutual fund and ETF fees will fall to zero with custodians and asset management firms paying investors for maintaining their accounts with them, much the same way banks gave out toasters for opening accounts in the 1960s,” Mr. Edelman said. “The firms are already making their money off securities lending and the float on money market assets. What matters most is asset attraction.”
