Top trends in 401(k) plans last year
A survey of 137 large defined-contribution plans by investment consultants NEPC shows that target-date funds rule the 401(k) universe, while the adoption of managed accounts seems to have stalled out. The median plan in the survey, which reflects data as of Dec. 31, 2021, had assets of $728 million and 5,400 participants.
