What financial advisers are grateful for this Thanksgiving
Starting own firm
I don't know how to write this without it sounding obnoxiously self-promoting, but I stepped out in February 2021 to start my own firm. It was against conventional wisdom to do so during COVID. It has gone well. I'm most thankful for my wife for supporting the change and my kids for accepting a stressed-out dad working all hours to work full-time while starting another business and then have the rigors of a new business. I'm extremely thankful for my existing clients and those who have joined since my move. I always feel like my clients are my family and I support them through thick and thin. I don't always know if that feeling is reciprocated. It certainly doesn't need to be as candidly my job is to help them plan properly and grow wealth. However, I have repeatedly been touched by their enthusiasm and encouragement for the new practice. It is very special to know that your clients seek to know you at a human depth as you seek to know them and that they are understanding of their adviser even through thick and the thin.
