The chief lobbying official for the Financial Planning Association is stepping down this month.
Duane Thompson is “leaving to pursue other options,” said Lynn Brackpool, director of communications for the FPA.
Mr. Thompson, who has been with the FPA for 14 years and is the managing director of its Washington office, wasn’t asked to leave the association, Ms. Brackpool said.
He decided to leave “to make sure nothing would be in the way of his pursuing other opportunities,” she said. “We’re looking forward to working with him in the future.”
Mr. Thompson’s last day with the FPA will be Sept. 22.
