Leitz tapped as next NAPFA chair
Experience includes registered rep, bank examiner, financial planner.
Linda Leitz has been named chairwoman of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors for a term that will begin Sept. 1.
Ms. Leitz, founder and co-owner of It’s Not Just Money Inc., a financial planning firm in Colorado Springs, Colo., will serve as chairman-elect until her appointment begins this fall.
The organization, which has approximately 2,500 members, is sorting out its chairmanship succession in anticipation of a new chief executive arriving this year to replace the departing CEO, Ellen Turf.
“Initiating the process of selecting a new NAPFA chair earlier in the planning cycle will afford us added continuity of leadership this year, which will be particularly important as we bring a new CEO on board later in 2013,” current NAPFA chairwoman Lauren Locker said in a statement.
Over her career in financial services, Ms. Leitz has been a bank examiner, a registered representative, a branch manager and a financial planner.
“NAPFA’s ability to change and grow as our industry becomes more [focused on registered investment advisers] is a charge anyone would be proud to help lead, and I look forward to serving our members and the interests of the public,” Ms. Leitz said in a statement.
