New York Life Investment Management LLC and Putnam Investments have expanded their retirement sales forces.
New York Life has added three regional vice presidents to its four-person defined-contribution investment-only sales team, according to statement from the firm today.
David Giannini is joining New York Life from Fred Alger Management Inc., where he was the director of retirement sales strategies. James Van Deventer, previously a vice president and senior retirement consultant at AllianceBernstein LP, is also joining New York Life, as is Debbie Vince, a former vice president in the retirement plans division of Bryson Financial Group.
Last month, New York Life announced that it was going to double its DCIO sales staff to eight people. The firm is in the final stages of itnerviews for the fourth hire, who will be an internal sales person, said Sarah Lazarus, a spokeswoman.
Also today, Putnam has added three sales professionals to its own defined-contribution team. Alan Dumas, who was most recently a vice president and retirement specialist at Fidelity Investments’ adviser-sold business, will be based in San Francisco as vice president, with responsibility for business development, according to a press release issued by Putnam.
John Leeson, a former registered investment adviser with LPL Financial working in the midsize- to large-plan market, has been named vice president in charge of the Southeast region. Chris Doucet, who joins Putnam as a senior vice president and national accounts director, will be in charge of defined-contribution full-service and investment-only sales through large broker-dealers, according to the release. Mr. Doucet was most recently at The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc.
