- Apple is on the prowl. In its latest move, the tech giant bought Burstly, a software firm that helps developers build apps. Terms were not disclosed, but so far Apple hasn’t been spending the same big bucks as Facebook and Google. Apple buys app-testing company Burstly But the 20 relatively small acquisitions Apple has made in the past 15 months may be an indicator of what the secretive company may have up its sleeve. - Meanwhile, Microsoft says its cutting the price of its operating system software by 70% as it looks to stay ahead of cheaper rivals such as Google’s Chromebook. Microsoft said to cut Windows price 70% to counter rivals
