Duo from JPMorgan head to Alex. Brown
Jon DuPrau and Caspar Tudor join the team in Los Angeles, Calif.
An investment management group led by Jon DuPrau and Caspar Tudor has moved from J.P. Morgan Securities in Los Angeles to Alex. Brown, a division of Raymond James & Associates Inc.
Mr. DuPrau will serve as managing director and head Alex. Brown’s institutional consulting in Southern California. He will be one of 17 advisers on the institutional consulting team. Mr. DuPrau brings 18 years of industry experience, having worked previously at Prudential Securities Inc. and Wells Fargo Advisors. He was instrumental in developing a strategy, known as dynamic indexing, that identifies the most attractive stocks in any index.
Mr. Tudor will serve as vice president of investments and will work on the team’s formulas for the Russell 1000 and 2000 indices.
Peter Barry, who has worked as a portfolio manager in a New York family office, is also joining the team, as are Maria Lee, a senior registered client associate, and Iris Lee, who will serve as director of portfolio consulting in Los Angeles.
Alex. Brown’s institutional consulting group advises on over $7 billion in assets, including endowments, foundations, health care, pension and defined contribution plans. Raymond James has $753 billion in total client assets.
