Janus announces exec departures

Janus Capital Group Inc., a Denver-based mutual fund firm, said chief financial officer Dave Martin and general counsel John Bluher are leaving the firm.

Janus Capital Group Inc., a Denver-based mutual fund firm, said chief financial officer Dave Martin and general counsel John Bluher are leaving the firm.
The unrelated departures are effective March 2, though Mr. Bluher has been asked to provide strategic consulting to Janus through the spring, the company said in a statement.
Mr. Martin, who will pursue a career opportunity outside of Denver, will be replaced by controller Greg Frost, a 10-year Janus veteran.
Mr. Bluher will be succeeded by Kelley Howes, who has been with Janus for 12 years and is general counsel of its investment unit, Janus Capital Management.
In a research note issued Tuesday, New York-based The Buckingham Research Group Inc. said it found “the news initially unnerving but [sees] no impact on strategy, and no ‘deeper-seated’ regulatory, accounting, and/or litigation issues driving the changes.”
As of the end of December, Janus managed $167.7 billion in assets.
