Janus fund manager moves on

David Corkins, portfolio manager of the company's flagship fund, will leave the company to pursue other opportunities.

Janus Capital Group Inc. announced that David Corkins, portfolio manager of the company’s flagship fund, will leave the company to pursue other opportunities.
Mr. Corkins, who took over the $12.6 billion Janus Fund in February 2006, has generated a return of 18% since January.
Additionally, he manages the Janus Adviser Large Cap Growth Fund, Janus Aspen Large Cap Growth Portfolio and related products at the Denver-based money manager.
Jonathan Coleman, who manages the Janus Enterprise fund and its related portfolios, will succeed Mr. Corkins.
He will no longer manage the Janus Enterprise fund, passing the responsibility along to Brian Demain.
All of the changes are effective Nov. 1.
Janus stock has risen 54% over the past year, but was down $1.40, or 4.32%, to $31.04 in morning trading.
Back in August, Scott Schoelzel, executive vice president and portfolio manager at Janus, announced that he will leave the company at the end of the year (InvestmentNews, Aug. 30) .
