Jefferies appoints chief financial officer

Peregrine C. de M. Broadbent joined from Morgan Stanley, where he had a 16-year career.

Jefferies Group Inc. of New York today named Peregrine C. de M. Broadbent executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Mr. Broadbent was a managing director and head of institutional controllers, a unit that handles fixed income, equity and investment banking at Morgan Stanley, where he had a 16-year career.
In that post, he managed more than 1,000 staffers.
He will begin his career with Jefferies later this quarter, working at the firm’s headquarters in New York.
Mr. Broadbent replaces Joseph A. Schenk, who had announced that he would retire at the end of the year for family reasons.
