Jefferies appoints head of Brit unit

Jefferies Group has named David Weaver as president of the investment bank's U.K. subsidiary.

Jefferies Group Inc. has named David Weaver as the president of Jefferies International Ltd., the investment bank’s U.K. subsidiary.
Mr. Weaver, who joined the company in May as head of international investment banking, replaces Clifford Siegel, who will retire after more than 17 years at the company.
Previously a senior banker in the London office of Frankfurt, Germany-based Deutsche Bank AG, he has more than 25 years in the finance industry.
New York-based Jefferies worked on more than 350 transactions worth over $145 billion during 2006.
