Jefferies Group names new executive

Jefferies Group Inc., an investment bank focused on small- and mid-sized companies, has hired Peter A. Rosenthal as a managing director and head of its new corporate equity services group.
The New York-based company said that Mr. Rosenthal will be responsible for providing equity services to its clients, financial sponsors and venture funds.
The new group’s specialty includes principal block transactions, corporate buybacks, restricted securities, hedging transactions and distributions.
Prior to joining Jefferies, Mr. Rosenthal has 14 years experience in institutional sales and corporate services at several previous firms.
Mr. Rosenthal was most recently the managing director and head of corporate services at New York-based Needham & Co. LLC.
Last year, Jefferies worked with growing companies on more than 350 transactions worth over $145 billion.
