The Collection of the late chairman, president and CEO of A.G. Edwards & Sons in St. Louis will be sold this week at Christie’s.

The global art business, based in New York, said the 400 items being sold Tuesday include silver, English furniture, rugs and Chinese exports.

Benjamin F. Edwards III died last year. He was the fifth direct descendant to head the brokerage firm founded by his great-grandfather in 1887.

Benjamin Edwards III had a passion for collecting art and furniture. His collection was in his homes in St. Louis and Naples and on the executive floor of the brokerage firm.
