* Placemark Investments Inc., an investment management service provider in Wellesley, Mass., has appointed Robert P. Mazzarella to its board of directors. Mr. Mazzarella, 56, spent 18 years at Boston’s Fidelity Investments, most recently as president of Fidelity Brokerage Services LLC.

* Silvercrest Asset Management Group LLC of New York has formed a new advisory board to assist in the development and implementation of the firm’s business strategy. William H. Donaldson, 72, will be chairman of the board. Mr. Donaldson is the founder and former chairman and CEO of New York’s Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette Inc., now part of Credit Suisse First Boston Corp.

* SoundView Technology Group Inc. of Old Greenwich, Conn., has announced the election of Stuart Robbins to its board of directors. Mr. Robbins, 60, who also has been designated chairman of the board, formerly was managing director of global equities at Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette Inc. in New York.

* Credit Suisse Asset Management LLC of New York has appointed Greg Sawers, 42, managing director and global head of research. Mr. Sawers’ appointment will serve to unite the company’s U.S., Asian, European and Australian equity research into one structure. Mr. Sawers previously was at Sanford C. Bernstein/Alliance Capital, where he was director of U.S. equity research and senior portfolio manager.

* First National Bank of Florida has promoted James L. Goehler to senior executive vice president and chief operating officer. Mr. Goehler, 54, previously was senior vice president and chief operating officer of the Naples, Fla., bank.

* Cantor Weiss & Friedner Inc. of New York has brought in Michael I. Becker as senior portfolio manager. Mr. Becker, 53, was senior vice president at JPMorgan Private Bank in New York.

* Laird Norton Trust Co. has promoted Mary Justice, 49, to executive vice president and managing director of marketing and high-net-worth business development. Ms. Justice was senior vice president at the Seattle-based private-investment and wealth management firm.

* Rydex Global Advisors Inc. of Rockville, Md., has appointed Philip Nicolaou national sales manager for its registered investment adviser business. Mr. Nicolaou, 45, previously was senior vice president for business strategies at Schwab Institutional of San Francisco.

* The Aquila Group of Funds in New York has appointed two new trustees for the Tax-Free Trust of Oregon.

Patricia L. Moss, 48, is president and chief executive of Cascade Bancorp and Bank of the Cascades in Bend, Ore.

She also serves as a member of the board of the Oregon Bankers Association.

Nancy Wilgenbush, 54, is president of Marylhurst (Ore.) University. She is also a member of the ethics committee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

* UBS Warburg LLC has expanded fixed-income analyst Aryeh Bourkoff’s responsibilities to include coverage of cable and satellite stocks. Mr. Bourkoff, 29, already is head of junk-bond research in cable and telecommunications for the Stamford, Conn., company.

* Carter Financial Management in Dallas has named David F.P. Guyett vice president and financial planner. Mr. Guyett, 53, had run his own practice in Dallas, affiliated with Raymond James Financial Services Inc. of Atlanta.
