* Natwest Global Financial Markets in New York has appointed Gary Popofsky, 40, head of sales and marketing for the North American region. Mr. Popofsky was senior vice president and head of sales for the foreign exchange business of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. in New York.
* Investment Technology Group Inc. in New York has named Neal S. Garonzik to its board of directors. Most recently he was a member
of the management committee
and head of the equity division at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co. in New York.
* Gateway Investment Advisers LP in Cincinnati has appointed Harry Merriken, 51, senior vice president and principal. Mr. Merriken had been a principal at BT Alex. Brown Inc. in New York.
* C.S. McKee & Co., a Pittsburgh asset manager, has named William C. Heydt, 34, vice president and marketing relationship manager. He had been a regional manager at Public Employees Benefit Services Corp., a division of Nationwide Insurance in Columbus, Ohio.
* Lynch Jones & Ryan Inc. in New York has appointed Oliver Berry, 35, and Jeremy Welch, 36, as vice presidents of plan sponsor sales. Mr. Berry had been head of tactical trading with the Saudi International Bank in London. Mr. Welch had been a private business consultant to Cyprus-based Citi Principal Investments Ltd.
* Paine Webber Group Inc. in New York has named Michael J. Grad, David Graus, Martin D. Magida and Michael S. Rintoul as investment bankers.
Mr. Grad, 42, will serve as managing director in the mergers and acquisitions group. He worked in the same capacity at Bear Stearns Cos. in New York.
Mr. Magida, 39, a chartered financial analyst, will serve as vice president in the technology group.
Mr. Rintoul, 33, also a chartered financial analyst, will work as a director in the business services group in Chicago.
* Global Investment Systems, an investment industry software company in Hackensack, N.J., has promoted Barry McConville, 42, to general manager for its offices in Ireland. He was marketing manager.
* Accessor Capital Management in Seattle has appointed Louis Nagy, 55, regional director. He served as senior vice president , Western region, at Wright Investor Services in Bridgeport, Conn.
* Barrett Associates in New York has appointed Larry Siebert, 37, as a managing director. He had been a portfolio manager at Avatar Associates in New York.
* SEI Investments in Oaks, Pa., has named R. Greg Bare, 41, national sales director. He held the same post at John Nuveen & Co. in Chicago.
* American Express Co. in New York has elected Robert L. Crandall, 63, to the board of directors. He retired last year as chairman and chief executive of American Airlines and its parent, AMR Corp., in Fort Worth, Texas.
A subsidiary, American Express Retirement Services in Minneapolis, has hired Jerry Alrutz, 39, as vice president, eastern region, based in Philadelphia. He worked in a similar capacity at Delaware Investments, also in Philadelphia.
* Glenmede Trust Co.’s New Jersey unit in Princeton has named Todd Lincoln, 42, marketing vice president. Mr. Lincoln worked in a similar capacity at Strategic Marketing International in New York.
* Nvest Services Co. Inc. in Boston has appointed Jim Wall, 36, senior vice president and deputy general counsel. He served as senior legal counsel at Fidelity Investments in Boston.
* New York Life Benefit Services Inc. in Norwood, Mass., has appointed Keith J. Purcell, 36, national sales manager. He was director of alliance account sales at Marriott International in Washington.
