U.S. Financial Advisors LLC in Braintree, Mass., has named Frank Callahan, 49, vice president of marketing and business development. He worked in the same capacity at Mesa Group in Newton, Mass., which was sold to Microsoft in May 1998.

C.E. Unterberg Towbin in New York has appointed Lewis Eisenberg, 56, co-chairman and Robert L. Kahan, 51, president. Benjamin N. Simon, 60, has been hired as head of institutional sales.

Mr. Eisenberg is co-chairman of Granite Capital International Group in Providence, R.I.

Mr. Kahan was a senior managing director, and Mr. Simon a partner at NationsBanc Montgomery Securities in Charlotte, N.C. Both will work out of San Francisco.

Kemper Funds Group, an arm of Scudder Kemper Investments Inc. in Chicago, has named Robert J. Froehlich, 45, vice chairman. He has been with the firm since 1997 and most recently served as chief strategist at Scudder Kemper Investments.

Jones & Babson Inc., a mutual fund company in Kansas City, Mo., has appointed Michael J. Dailey, 53, director of institutional sales. Mr. Dailey was a principal at MJD Consulting in Cincinnati.

DeBart Group Inc., a financial services firm in New York, has appointed Robert J. Taddeo, 55, a chartered life underwriter and chartered financial consultant, managing director of its employee benefits division. Mr. Taddeo, 55, was an associate manager in the customer relations office at Equitable Life Assurance Society of America in New York.

Zurich Kemper Life, a member of Zurich Financial Services Group in Long Grove, Ill., has named Jerry Adzima, 41, executive sales director of the Group Retirement Plans Strategic Business Unit. Mr. Adzima served as divisional vice president for Northern Life Insurance Co. in Seattle. In addition Kimberly Shaw Elliot, 42, was hired as senior vice president of the company’s financial strategic business unit. Ms. Elliot worked in a similar capacity at the General American Cos. in St. Louis.

C.S. McKee and Co. Inc. in Pittsburgh has named Kathryn K. Murin, 44, and Bradford J. Hanes, 33, as directors. Both are senior vice presidents. Ms. Murin, with the asset management company since 1985, is an associate director of equities, market sector specialist and portfolio manager. Mr. Hanes, an eight-year employee, manages relationships with labor, endowments and foundations.

United Asset Management Corp. in Boston has named James P. Pappas, 46, president of UAM Investment Services Inc., a centralized distribution and service affiliate. Mr. Pappas joined the affiliate in 1995. Most recently he has been marketing the UAM mutual fund family. Mr. Pappas is director of UAM Funds and senior vice president of UAM Trust Co. in Boston.

Fiserv Inc., a provider of integrated data processing and information management systems to the financial industry, has appointed Leslie M. Muma, 54, chief executive officer. He also serves as vice chairman, president and chief operating officer. Mr. Muma joined the Brookfield, Wis., company in 1984.

Neuberger Berman LLC in New York has named Robert Matza, 42, principal and head of operations. He had been deputy treasurer of Citigroup in New York and succeeds Herbert W. Ackerman, 70, who is retiring.

Nvest Advisor Services in Boston has named David Browning, 37, regional sales vice president. He had a similar job at Meridian Investment Management in Englewood, Colo.

Van Kampen Investments in Chicago has appointed A. Thomas Smith 3rd, 42, executive vice president and general counsel. He held a similar post at New York Life Insurance Co.
