Pullman Group, in New York has promoted Theodore Chung, 25, to vice president. He had been a senior associate.

Conseco Capital Management in Carmel, Ind., has named Jeffrey R. Applebaum, 37, and Eric B. Holmes, 39, manager and director, respectively, of marketing for public and defined benefit plans. Mr. Applebaum worked in a similar capacity in Chicago for Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. Mr. Holmes sold Section 457 plans for Nationwide Retirement Solutions (formerly Pebsco) in Columbus, Ohio.

SII Investments Inc., a Menasha, Wis., broker-dealer, has promoted Peter M. Johnson, 39, to president and chief executive. Mr. Johnson, a certified financial planner, had been chief operating officer. SII, formerly known as Secura Investments Inc., is wholly owned by Jackson National Life Insurance Co.

Madison Investment Advisors in Madison, Wis., has named Greg Dahlman, 36, vice president and portfolio manager and Sandra Champion, 46, vice president for client development. Most recently Mr. Dahlman was an equity analyst with Gulf Investment Management Inc. in Houston. Ms. Champion worked in a similar capacity at Carl Domino & Associates in Plano, Texas.

Aquila Tax-Free Trust of Arizona in Phoenix has appointed Al Stockman, 44, vice president responsible for marketing and shareholder services. He has also been named vice president of the Aquila Rocky Mountain Equity fund. Mr. Stockman had been a corporate officer with Banc One Arizona in Phoenix.

Nationwide Financial Services Inc. in Columbus, Ohio, has appointed two national sales managers for wholesale variable life insurance products: Peter A. Golato, 45, eastern zone, and Louis A. Gardner, 42, western zone.

Mr. Golato, based in Falmouth, Mass., had been senior regional life consultant for New England Life in Boston. Mr. Gardner, based in San Clemente, Calif., had been senior regional consultant for the Southern California/Hawaii region.

Six regional life consultants were also appointed: Dawn C. Clifford, 38, for New Jersey, based in Bridgewater; Robert E. Fix, 33, for the Pacific Northwest, based in Beaverton, Ore.; John F. Keenan, 34, for New York City and Long Island, based in Westfield, N.J.; Steven J. Moore, 40, for the Southwest, based in Phoenix; Daniel J. O’Shea, 32, for New England, based in West Yarmouth, Mass., and Steven M. Weiner, 40, for Southern California/Hawaii, based in Newport Beach, Calif.

Mr. Fix had been a brokerage manager for Jackson National Life; Mr. Keenan served as director of individual marketing, east region, for New York Life Insurance Co. in New York; Mr. Moore was a brokerage manager for Aetna in Hartford, Conn.; Mr. O’Shea had been a senior marketing consultant for John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Co. in Boston, and Mr. Weiner was a director for Lincoln/Cigna Individual Insurance Life Brokerage in Santa Ana, Calif.

Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc. in New York has named Doris P. Meister, 44, chairman of Merrill Lynch Trust. Ms. Meister had been executive vice president and managing director of Fleet Financial’s Private Clients Group in Boston.

Lyon Street Asset Management, an affiliate of Old Kent Bank in Grand Rapids, Mich. has appointed Gregg R. Steamer, 45, senior vice president and institutional sales manager. He served as portfolio manager and vice president of institutional sales at Bank of America in Chicago.

USI Insurance Services Corp. in San Francisco has elected William H. Hoefling, 48, to its board of directors. He is executive vice president of Chase Manhattan Bank and an executive for Chase’s Diversified Consumer Services Group.

Jurika & Voyles LP in Oakland, Calif. has named Christopher L. Bittman, 35, president and chief executive. Mr. Bittman joined the firm in 1991 and most recently served as senior vice president. Karl O. Mills, 38, formerly executive vice president, becomes vice chairman, and William K. Jurika, 59, co-founder and former president, will serve as chairman. Both he and co-founder Glenn C. Voyles, 60, will continue be involved with the firm’s investment process.

Jefferies & Co. Inc., the principal operating subsidiary of Jefferies Group Inc. in Los Angeles, has appointed Steven R. Black, 42, director of equity research, based in New York. Mr. Black had been a managing director and head of North American research at Deutsche Bank Securities in New York.

Markov Processes International Corp., an investment software company in Short Hills, N.J., has named Michelle Slysh Crawford, 30, vice president for client services. Ms. Crawford was a director of quantitative analysis at Fidelity Investments’ Strategic Advisors unit in Boston.

Dime Savings Bank of New York has appointed Melvin L. Cebrik, 51, senior vice president and general manager of the new Dime Insurance Group. Most recently he served as vice president for technology governance support and corporate branch marketing at Chase Manhattan Bank in New York.

Eclipse Trading Inc., an after-hours retail securities trading company in New York, has appointed Michael O. Sanderson, 56, chairman and chief executive. Most recently he was president and chief executive of Instinet Corp., a brokerage equity subsidiary of Reuters in New York.

Aquila Tax-Free Trust of Oregon in Portland has appointed John W. Mitchell, 54, a trustee. He was also appointed a trustee of the Aquila Cascadia Equity fund. He is a principal of M&H Economic Consultants and an economist, based in Portland,.for U.S. Bancorp.

Questor Management Co. in Southfield, Mich., has appointed Robert D. Denious, 37, managing director. He had been a partner in the corporate and securities group of Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP in Philadelphia.
