ND Holdings Inc., a Minot, N.D., based mutual fund management company, has promoted Shannon Radke to vice president and chief operating officer. Previously, Mr. Radke, 31, was treasurer.

Guinness Flight Investment Management Ltd. of Pasadena, Calif., has appointed Robert Conlon lead manager of the Guinness Flight Asia Small Cap Fund, based in Hong Kong. He replaces Nerissa Lee, who recently joined Banque Generale of Belgium. Mr. Conlon, 32, had been senior investment manager in the Hong Kong office of Edinburgh, Scotland-based Ivory & Sime.

In addition to managing the Asia Small Cap Fund, Mr. Conlon will serve as chief investment officer for Guinness Flight Hambro Asia, which manages several regional and smaller company funds valued at nearly $500 million.

Aquila Management Corp. of New York has elected Dave Frohnmayer, 57, president of the University of Oregon, to serve as an independent trustee of the Aquila Tax-Free Trust of Oregon and the Aquila Cascadia Equity Fund.

Calvert Group, a Bethesda, Md.-based mutual fund manager and distributor, has named Craig D. Cloyed national sales manager. He replaces Steve Schueth, who left the company in June. Mr. Cloyed, 51, most recently was president of Berger Distributors Inc. and chief marketing officer of Berger Associates, Inc., both of Denver.

Near North Insurance Brokerage Inc. of Chicago has promoted Devra Gerber from account executive to vice president. Ms. Gerber, 26, leads the firm’s Transaction Consulting Group, a consulting service that provides risk management and due diligence for firms involved in mergers.

Morgan Grenfell Capital Management of New York has appointed Gregory A. Ledesma vice president of marketing and Todd A. Little client services manager. Mr. Ledesma, 36, will be responsible for fund marketing in the central United States from Denver. Previously, he was a regional account manager at Denver-based Invesco Funds Group Inc. Mr. Little, 29, will provide internal marketing support and assist with adviser communications from i
n Philadelphia. Before joining Morgan Grenfell, Mr. Little supervised sales at the Fund Resources Division of Wayne, Pa.-based SEI Investments.

Colorado State Bank Board has named Mary Mohr to replace chairman Jerry Starks. Ms. Mohr, 48, who is beginning her third four-year term representing the trust industry on the board, is senior vice president of Denver-based First Trust Corp. She is the first non-banker to head the Denver-based board.

State Street Research and Management Co. of Boston has hired Melissa Birtwell as director of production in the retail mutual funds marketing group, replacing Linda Grasso, who has left the company. Ms. Birtwell, 34, was previously director of retail production at Fidelity Investments.

Affirmative Lifestyles Inc., a San Antonio-based viatical settlement company, has hired David R. Guiliani to the new position of wholesaler for its ALI Viatical Fund. Mr. Guiliani, 46, had a vice president of finance at Freedom Vision Centers, a medical technology firm in Dana Point, Calif.

The National Endowment for Financial Education in Denver has named Nan S. Mead director of communications, a new position. Ms. Mead, 44, held a similar position with the College for Financial Planning. A spokeswoman for the college – a division of Phoenix-based Apollo Group Inc. – said the position will not be filled.

Board of Trade Clearing Corp. of Chicago has elected one new governor and three new officers at its annual stockholders meeting.

William L. Zimmerman, 47, a managing director with Salomon Brothers Inc., won a three-year term on the board of governors, succeeding David Johnson. W. Robert Felker, 47, president and chief executive officer of First Chicago Futures Inc., succeeds Christopher K. Hehmeyer, 44, as chairman. Mr. Hehemeyer, co-chairman of Goldenberg Hehmeyer & Co., becomes first vice chairman of the board.
