Aquila Management Corp. of New York has appointed Christine L. Neimeth regional marketing manager in Portland, Ore. She is also assistant vice president of Aquila’s Tax-Free Trust of Oregon and the Aquila Cascadia Equity Fund. Ms. Neimeth, 34, succeeds Kerry A. Lemert, 42, who left the company. Previously, Ms. Neimeth worked in institutional municipal bond sales for Pacific Crest Securities, also in Portland.

* Fortis Financial Group of St. Paul, Minn., has appointed Roger Arnold senior vice president and retail channel manager. Mr. Arnold, 47, succeeds Tom Gualdoni, 49, who left the company in December. Mr. Arnold spent 15 years at Minneapolis-based Reliastar, serving most recently as vice president of sales.

* Bear Stearns & Co. Inc. of New York has appointed John W. Geissinger a senior managing director and head of fixed income in its asset management unit, a new position. Mr. Geissinger, 38, had been managing director and head of investment grade fixed income at Chancellor LGT Asset Management in New York.

* Lehman Brothers Inc., of New York has named two vice chairmen, both of whom joined the company in 1967. They are Allan S. Kaplan, 63, and Gregory E. Sacco Jr. , 55. Mr. Kaplan is chairman of the panel that reviews underwriting, merchant banking and advisory relationships,. Mr. Sacco heads global equity capital markets

* Penn Mutual Life Insurance Co. of Philadelphia has promoted Nina M. Mulrooney to vice president-market conduct, a newly created position. Ms. Mulrooney, 43, will continue as general auditor. Her additional responsibilities include directing all corporate compliance efforts. Ms. Mulrooney joined the company in 1976 as an accounting trainee.

* Aim Distributors Inc. of Houston, the retail marketing subsidiary of Aim Management Group Inc., has hired Michael Caterbone, James Gill and Curtis Marsh as vice presidents and wholesalers of the independent insurance dealer division.

Mr. Caterbone, 36, will handle wholesaling in Florida, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
He had been Florida region vice president and wirehouse divisional wholesaler for New York-based SunAmerica’s annuities.

Mr. Gill, 43, will head wholesaling in Illinois and Kentucky. Most recently, he was regional vice president with Wood Logan & Associates, marketing the Old Greenwich, Conn., firm’s funds and annuities in Minnesota, Wisconsin, northern Illinois and northern Indiana.

Mr. Marsh, 35, will handle wholesaling in Arizona, Hawaii, Nevada, Southern California and Utah. He had been marketing fixed and variable annuities as regional vice president and western regional sales officer with Boston-based Keyport Life Insurance Co.

* State Street Research and Management Co. of Boston has named Joanne Hickman a senior vice president and head of consultant relations. One of her priorities will be the recruiting of a consultant relations professional. Ms. Hickman, 37, comes from Chicago-based Zurich Kemper Investment Management, where she headed consultant relations as a managing director.

* Hantz Financial Services of Roseville, Mich., has added three financial consultants — all from American Express Financial Advisors — to its Midland, Mich., office. The are Michael W. Laursen 39, one of only three certified divorce planners in Michigan; John W. Drenckpohl, 60, who is beginning his fifth year as a financial consultant, and John N. Wilson, 42, who began four months ago after working in sales at both Warner Lambert and Hershey Chocolate.

* Southwestern Securities of Dallas has hired Michael L. McAllister as senior vice president of corporate finance and managing director to be based in Austin. He had been managing director of investment banking for Loewenbaum & Co. Inc., also in Austin

* Keyport Life Insurance Co. of Boston has promoted Stephen B. Bonner, 51, to the new post of executive vice president in charge of retirement income marketing, as well as distribution and client service. He had been a senior vice president of income markets.

* Fortis Advisers Inc. of New York has named Michael J.
Romanow-ski, 47, as vice president of equities. He will manage the company’s Growth and Series Growth Funds. He replaces Steven Poling, 67, who is retiring after managing the funds since their inception 15 years ago. Mr. Romanowski previously worked as lead portfolio manager for the Value Line Fund in New York.

* Indosuez Capital, the New York-based merchant banking and asset management division of Credit Agricole Indosuez, has hired Daniel H. Smith Jr., 34, as managing director and senior portfolio manager in charge of asset management. He comes from Frye-Louis Capital Management Inc. in Chicago, where he worked as a vice president and a principal of the firm.

* Frontier Analytics Inc. of San Diego, Calif., has promoted Kamaryn T. Tanner, 28, to director of product development from investment and project manager. She succeeds Randall King, 39, a founding partner of the six-year-old firm, who has left the company.

* John G Kinnard & Co. of Minneapolis has hired Marc C. McIntosh, former president of investment banking boutique AMA Associates Inc., as a managing director and senior technical banker.

* Zweig/Avatar Capital Management of New York has appointed Sidney F. Queler, 29, vice president and national sales manager. Mr. Queler, 29, formerly was vice president and national marketing director for the Lexington, Mass.-based BTS Asset Management.
