Condor Capital, a Martinsville, N.J., investment firm, has named Andrew Novick client service manager and financial planner. Previously Mr. Novick, 30, was a fee-based financial adviser with Krasney Financial Inc., of Morristown, N.J., specializing in high-net-worth clients and small businesses.

Mutual of Omaha Cos. has promoted vice chairman Jack Weekly to chairman of the board of Mutual of Omaha Insurance Co. and United of Omaha Life Insurance Co. He remains chief executive of both.

Mr. Weekly, 66, a 42-year veteran of the company, succeeds Tom Skutt, 67, who was named chairman emeritus and will leave the board. Mr. Skutt had been chairman since 1986 and retired as chief executive of Mutual and United in 1996. The board named Mutual and United president John Sturgeon, 57, chief operating officer as well.

Robert M. Cohen & Co., a Great Neck, N.Y., investment brokerage, has hired Michael R. Lehmann, 28, as a research analyst in special situations and the entertainment and media sectors. He had served for five years as a vice president with Gabelli & Co.

Fiduciary Trust International of the South, a Miami investment management company, has named as president Teresa Valdes-Fauli Weintraub, 44, formerly an executive with Northern Trust Bank of Florida. She replaces Peter Houghton, 58, now chairman. Fiduciary is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fiduciary Trust Co. International of New York.

Glenmede Trust Co. of Philadelphia has named Stephen A. Mozur vice president and senior portfolio manager. He’s in charge of the firm’s large-cap value equity mutual fund. Mr. Mozur, 44, replaces Ron Stribley, 57, who left last June. Mr. Mozur had been senior vice president and portfolio manager for Bryn Mawr, Pa.-based Newbold’s Asset Management, where he managed $2.3 billion.

Equitable Life Assurance Society of the U.S., the New York-based principal life insurance subsidiary of Equitable Cos. Inc., has named Jose S. Suquet senior executive vice president. Mr. Suquet, 41, will remain chief distribution officer
for Equitable Life and executive vice president for its parent. He heads the company’s new integrated sales effort. As chief agency officer since 1994, Mr. Suquet restructured the career distribution system, which helped boost Equitable’s growth rate to 76% in 1997, officials said.

Wells Capital Management of San Francisco has appointed N. Graham Allen managing director of its new global fixed income group. Mr. Allen, 43, had headed the

international bond management team at Bradford & Marzec, in Los Angeles.

Joining Mr. Allen as portfolio managers are Daniel J. Kokoszka, 47, and Jacqueline A. Flippin, 41, and principal Thomas A. Harrison IV, 40.

Mr. Kokoszka had been an assistant manager of the international portfolio at Bradford & Marzec. Ms. Flippin, previously a vice president at McMorgan & Co. in San Francisco, specializes in core fixed-income securities.

Mr. Harrison will be in charge of national marketing to consultants. He had been vice president of institutional client development at Merrill Lynch/Hotchkis and Wiley in Los Angeles.

Ms. Flippin will work from San Francisco; the others from Los Angeles.

Weiss Peck & Greer Venture Partners of San Francisco has promoted Peter Y. Nieh to general partner. Mr. Nieh, 32, is part of the firm’s five-member team investing in early- and expansion-stage information technology companies. He had been a

venture partner.

Principal Financial Group of Des Moines, Iowa, has elected executive vice president J. Barry Griswell, 48, as president and a director of Principal Mutual Life Insurance Co. He succeeds David J. Drury, 53, who will continue as chairman and chief executive. Mr. Griswell will oversee global retirement services for small and medium businesses and domestic retail operations.
