American United Life Insurance Co. of Indianapolis has named John Boyd, 57, vice president of equity products, a new position. He had been an executive vice president at Westwood, Kan.-based BMA Financial Services Inc.

Evergreen Funds of Charlotte, N.C., has promoted Gordon Forrester, 37, chief administrative officer of Evergreen Investment Services, to senior vice president.

Equitable Distributors Inc. of New York has appointed Michael Petko and Jerry Stone regional vice presidents in the financial institutions division. Mr. Petko, 28, will manage distribution in Colorado, Idaho, Nevada and Utah. He had worked for Houston-Stanford Group Co. of Houston, as a Denver-based financial consultant. Mr. Stone, 46, will manage distribution in California and Arizona. A certified financial planner, he had been a vice president at Talbot Financial Services of Albuquerque, N.M.

Centurion Counsel Inc. of San Diego has named Todd M. Jones, 36, senior investment officer. He had managed individual investors’ portfolios while serving as a registered principal, branch manager and due diligence officer for San Diego-based Pim Financial.

John Hancock Advisers Inc. of Boston has named James D. Schantz vice president and head of quantitative research, and Carolee Bongiovi senior fixed-income

investment officer. Mr. Schantz, 50, previously was executive vice

president and designer of quantitative models and valuation tools at Boston-based HMV Investment Advisors Inc. Ms. Bongiovi was an associate director and sale-side analyst for high-yield credits

in the supermarket industry for New York-based Scotia Capital Markets.

National Regulatory Services Inc. of Lakeville, Conn., has appointed Diane Boone director of West Coast investment advisory services. She is managing the company’s new West Coast office in Oakland, Calif. Formerly, Ms. Boone, 38, was vice president and compliance officer for the investment advisory

division Charles Schwab & Co. Inc. in San Francisco.

Also joining the company from Schwab is compliance associate Jonathan Tracy, 34, who had been a senior compliance analyst with the investment advisory division.

Limitrader Securities Inc. of Princeton, N.J., has named Edwin J. McGuinn Jr., 45, president and chief executive. He had been executive vice president and head of operations at InterVest Securities Inc., a rival electronic bond trading network in Philadelphia.

Salomon Smith Barney Inc. of New York has named William Rice, 36, to the new post of vice president and national director of marketing and communications in its consulting group. He had been director of corporate marketing at Liberty Financial Cos. in Boston.

Colonial Asset Management, a new firm in Jacksonville, Fla., has appointed founding member Jack Ablin, 39, chief investment officer for the $220 million trust and pension group. He had been chief investment officer at Barnett Capital Advisors Inc., also in Jacksonville.

Society of Asset Allocators and Fund Timers Inc. of Denver has elected its 1998-1999 slate of officers and directors.
